According to several media reports in Somalia, the helicopter, attached to the United Support Office in Somalia, landed in the Galgaduud region in central Somalia, and details for its emergency landing were yet to be revealed.

Local media reports indicate that six out of the nine passengers onboard were captured, one killed, and two escaped. The fate of those two who fled is still unknown.
The UN support office in Somalia, which provides logistical support to the peacekeeping forces, has yet to release any information on the captured helicopter. The BBC also reported that the seizure of the helicopter was confirmed by Galmudug region Security Minister Mohamed Abdi Aden.
The BBC quoted Somali military official Major Hassan Ali, who spoke to Reuters, saying several foreigners and two locals were on the helicopter. "It was also carrying medical supplies and it was supposed to transport injured soldiers from the Galgadud region," said the military official. They further reported that it was heading to Wisil town near the frontlines of an offensive against Al-Shabaab by the government forces when it landed.
